sPark It were approached by the Merseyside Cycling Campaign and Love Wavertree CIC to propose a series of installations along the proposed National Cycle Route 6 where it links Wavetree, Smithdown and Toxteth to Hope Street in Liverpool City Centre. ƒ(𝒏) provided a high level plan, identifying opportunities to approach and work with stakeholders on the route and suggesting locations for installations as well as mapping potential Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, which would be trialed for the day. It was suggested to close down both Wavertree High Street and Hope Street to create a dual-location street festival linked by the cycle route. The scheme was well received by Liverpool City Council, however conflict with the Labour Party Conference (on the same day) and indecision lead to the reduced scope to closing only Wavertree High Street, which was done to great success.
ƒ(𝒏) Architects are dedicated to the advocacy of low-carbon infrastructure and encouraging investment in streets not only in the city centre but across all parts of the city.
