On the successful trial of the modular parklet at Mann Island in summer 2023, ƒ(𝒏) Architects provided a pitch deck for submission to the Liverpool ONE challenge in late 2023. It was proposed that sPark It would provide a series of installations and a calendar of events throughout Liverpool ONE – a very large shopping district in Liverpool City Centre with millions of visitors per year. sPark It and Transition Liverpool would act as an intermediary to the local community to bring under-represented communities into the city centre, providing installations catering specifically to local interest and need. In-keeping with the participatory ethos of the project, proposals were indicative pending involvement from other groups.
ƒ(𝒏) formally presented the scheme to the L1 board of directors in November 2023 and was shortlisted, with agreement from the board to undertake projects working together in the near future.
